A little about Ed ... 

Born in Orange to the late Walter and Dolores Walsh, he grew up in Newark, moving to Lake Hiawatha in 1979.  He attended Morris Catholic High School and graduated in 1983.  He went on to attend and graduate from Seton Hall University, where he was a very active member of the Pi Kappa Alpha fraternity. He then attended Seton Hall Law School graduating with his J.D. in 1990.

Ed worked in various legal positions in industry and private law firms prior to joining BASF in Florham Park in 2016 as Assistant General Counsel.  He truly loved working there.

In 1994, he married Jannine Racine and they settled in Cedar Knolls.  Ed was very active in his community.  He was a lector at Notre Dame of Mount Carmel Church, where he and his family have been parishioners since 1994.  He was an advocate for the Knights of Columbus of St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Council 6904. He coached Hanover Township Little League and Hanover Tigers Youth Football, impacting the lives of so many. Presently, he was serving on the Hanover Township Zoning Board.

Ed studied at Traditional Okinawan Martial Arts for many years at their dojo in Madison, where he was a 4th degree black belt and enthusiastic instructor.

Ed was a man who gave of himself to others.  He would gladly share his time, advice, views, stories, a favorite beer and perhaps a glass or two of Irish whiskey with all of his friends and family.  He was very proud of his Irish heritage, had a great sense of humor, smiling blue eyes, a big laugh and even bigger heart.  Even in his death he continued to give as an organ donor.

He was a devoted loving husband to Jannine and an amazing loving father, to William and Katherine; a cherished brother of Patrick and his wife Kelly; and a dedicated Uncle of 6.

Ed will be forever remembered for his smile that could light up a room, his huge hugs, and most of all for the love he gave to everyone that was blessed enough to enter his life.
